The second Dodge County Court House, built in 1907,replaced the orignal, wooden court house that burned. William E. Dodge had donated the funds to construct the first courthouse. This beautiful two-story building with its columns and ornate dome, also burned.

The remains of this building formed the main part of the current court house. Missing were the columned entrance ways and the dome of the building. In 2000, the courthouse underwent partial renovations, which included installation of an elevator.
